Meet Amanda

Specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy

Hi, I’m Amanda—a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I’m the founder of Brain Power Counseling, a practice grounded in authenticity, creativity, and deep respect for the healing process.

My approach to therapy is human-centered and relational. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and children navigating trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, relational stress, life transitions, and neurodivergence. I meet clients where they are—with openness, compassion, and a deep belief in their ability to grow.

I integrate person-centered, psychodynamic, expressive arts, and neuropsychotherapy approaches to support the mind-body connection and foster lasting emotional and cognitive change. Sessions are collaborative, flexible, and tailored to the unique strengths and needs of each client. Whether we’re processing past wounds or navigating the present, my goal is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and empowering.

Brain Power Counseling was born out of a desire to offer something real—a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely seen and supported. If you're looking for care that is grounded, relational, and evidence-informed, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Meet Steve P

Mental Health Counselor Intern

I am passionate about helping others navigate their journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery. I am committed to doing this by providing an ethical, empathetic, and non-judgmental experience. With eight years experience as a first responder and crisis intervention officer, I have gained a unique real-world, unfiltered perspective of trauma and crisis.

The journey is your own, but you don't have to walk it alone. I believe we all need to be reminded of this sometimes. My goal is to come alongside you as you face life's challenges and help you implement practical tools to succeed. My personal style is to combine evidence-based approaches with reliable, action-oriented practices that build confidence and clarity.

Audere est faucere - To dare is to do.

Meet Kylie

Mental Health Counselor Intern

Kylie's path to counseling began with a background in biology and a lifelong curiosity about the "why" behind complex problems. While studying the human body, she found herself increasingly drawn to understanding the human mind, relationships, and the experiences that shape who we are. That curiosity, combined with a belief in the power of authentic human connection, led her to pursue a career in counseling.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at Brain Power Counseling, Kylie strives to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. Her approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based practices to meet each client's unique needs.

Kylie enjoys working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. Whether clients are processing past experiences, navigating uncertainty, or simply feeling stuck, her goal is to walk alongside them with empathy and curiosity as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
